While traveling in Istanbul, I made sure to take plenty of photographs of one of my favorite things, decaying buildings. Philadelphia is completely full of them, which is something I love about the city. The buildings in Istanbul were even older, even more decayed, some so old they looked as though they had taken one last heave and completely given out.
Here are a few of my favorites, although there were so many more and our camera died three days before we left. These abandoned and dilapidated places, situated so close to new architecture and juxtaposed against the backdrop of a modern international city- beautiful.
