Like so many, I am completely in love with the series Downton Abbey. I’ve always loved Masterpiece theater, the period dramas with their beautiful costumes and settings. I was of course delighted to discover that ‘Downton Abbey’ is a real castle in England, with most of the main floor scenes being shot there. It turns out that Architectural Digest did an article on Highclere Castle in 1979 and re-posted it recently. I love all the photos, which have that twang of age to them, while letting the opulence of the castle shine. I suggest checking out the article, as well. I may be visiting England this year, and if so, I just might have to pay this place a visit!
